Approval of import hazardous and restricted petroleum materials

The service aims to grant companies the prior approval for importing hazardous petroleum products that are restricted by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.

How to apply


Terms and conditions

  1. The petroleum materials import permit is issued by the competent local authority in each emirate after obtaining approval from the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.
  2. The approval is issued for each separate shipment and is valid for six months from the date of issuance.
  3. The application must be submitted (at least 15 days before the shipment arrives)
  4. All required documents must be completed to obtain approval
  5. The approval expires upon entry of the shipment/material into the country.
  6. Existence of a storage site or contract with a company within the country (sale or re-export)
  7. It will be rejected if:
  8. The required papers and documents have not been completed
  9. The data in the requested document did not match.
  10. Importing in large quantities that do not correspond to the annual/monthly need (in the future).
  11. The materials to be imported did not match the purposes of use and the company's activity.
  12. The company did not specify a storage location
  13. The Ministry may reject the request to issue approval for public interest requirements
