The UAE continues to advance high-impact initiatives that enhance quality of life and promote family stability. In this context, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, represented by the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, has launched an initiative to provide a comprehensive insurance protection umbrella for housing support decisions granted to Emirati citizens and financed through banks. The initiative covers all segments of society, with a particular focus on senior citizens.

The initiative is built on strategic partnerships with the Central Bank of the UAE, national banks, takaful providers, and insurance companies. It offers integrated insurance coverage that includes protection in cases of death or total permanent disability, with coverage extended up to the age of 95. This is subject to the condition that the beneficiary's age does not exceed 70 years at the time of issuance of the housing support decision, thereby enhancing the financial stability of Emirati families.

This initiative also enables senior citizens to benefit more easily from housing support, addressing previous insurance and financing challenges that had limited their access to funding. Raising the insurance coverage ceiling represents a significant shift in housing policy.

Furthermore, the collaboration between government entities and the banking and insurance sectors reflects an integrated national model based on partnership and sustainability. It strengthens inclusivity and fairness in the distribution of housing support, in line with the UAE's vision of building a more cohesive and prosperous society.
